How to Make an Angel Tree Topper
- How to Make an Angel Tree Topper
This year, my little daughter made this Paper Mache Angel for her own little Christmas tree. It is so sweet. Nothing makes me smile more than seeing my kids’ handiwork decorating our house at Christmas time. I thought I’d share it with you today, so you and the kids can make one of your own.

How to make a paper mache angel tree topper directions
Step 1
Take the paper plate and fold it in half.
Step 2
Use a ruler and a marker to make a dot in the middle of the paper plate, then divide the fold evenly into quarters along the fold and mark dots. Finally, draw a circle around the dot (you can do this with the help of an ordinary mineral water bottle cap). As shown in the figure below:
Step 3
Use decorative craft scissors to cut along the line.
Step 4
Paint the sides as you want. Take your colorful pen and draw lines over each bump on the edge of the paper plate, then add a row of snowflakes on the inside edge of the paper plate.
Step 5
Make them fold to get a cone shape. Then cut off the excess and put some glue in between (you can use a clip or a peg to hold these together before the glue dries).
Step 6
Next, we are going to make the wings. Draw two wings on yellow paper and cut them off.
Step 7
Secure the wings in place. Arrange the wings at the back of the cone as desired. Punch a hole left and right in the cone, the hole should fit the end of the paper. Test it on your angel, if you think the holes need to be a bit bigger, you can always cut a larger one. When you are happy with the size of the holes, attach your wings to the cone.
Step 8
Make the angel face. You could use a photograph here or cut out a circle of paper and draw a face (If you want a black angel tree topper, you could use colorful pencils to blacken the angel’s face). You can also add hair to your angel.
Step 9
Then, use your scissors to cut the strap on the side of the mask and tie it into a bow. Attach the tie to the neck of the angel.
Step 10
Last of all, take your golden paper, create a halo hoop, and then add a strip to keep it in place. Attach the halo to the back of the angel using glue.
And there you now have a beautiful tree topper! You can also add some strings of lights to the top of the Christmas tree. Then while you put the angel on the top, you can get a lighted angel tree topper. So much cuter right? And such a fast and easy project too! You could have a nice, cozy time creating together with your kids – one of my favorite parts of the Christmas holidays at our house is making Christmas crafts together!

If you want to make an origami angel for the Christmas tree
Requirements: A piece of 50cmx50cm white paper suitable for origami.
Step 1
First make a “+”-shaped crease, then an “x”-shaped crease, then fold three creases (1, 2, 3) according to the marks in the picture, and finally fold a right-angled trapezoid according to crease 4 and crease 5.
Step 2
Place the right-angled trapezoid vertically, first divide it into three equal parts, and then subdivide it into 6 equal parts, 12 equal parts, and 24 equal parts.

Along fold line 1, make a cross crease similar to the picture. This step is a bit tedious and requires patience.

Step 5
Use the crease in Step 3 to fold it repeatedly.
Step 6
After folding, bring it together to form a right angle.
